Premier League 2018/2019: Crystal Palace – Preview, Squad, and Signings
Crystal Palace, where should you start? The team that you could have thought would have stayed up last year. Frank de Boer’s disastrous spell at the club was to be blunt terrible. The former Ajax manager was sacked and incomes Roy Hodgson. The quite hated manager did the impossible and made the South London club to stay up in the highest tier in football in Britan. Will he be able to do the impossible once again?
The South London club has not have had an easy spell in the Premier League. Their signings have not produced as they perhaps should, not to name anyone but Benteke has not produced as he should have. The team ended up on 11th place (!) and 44 points, only 11 points to relegation though. Last year the table was incredibly tough but even though the team came 11th the team lost barely to the top 6 clubs and could have gained many points from their ignominious losses.
Regarding the transfer market, the team has improved their squad a lot without outspending. Guaita from Getafe and Max Meyer where both free while Kouyate from West Ham was signed with an acceptable fee. Great signings especially for “such” a small club. The team has also not lost that many of significances. Yohan Cabaye, did one or two good seasons at the club but after that, the Frenchman was somewhat overhyped. Good transfer window by the South Londoners.
The team will stay up this year as well but the table is even tougher this year and the team won’t become 11th this time around. 15th seems like a solid bet.
