Rafael Nadal is by far the most successful player at the French Open with 12 titles. Former record holder Bjorn Borg won 6 times at Roland Garros between 1974-1981. In the fourth round of French Open 2009 Nadal experienced his first loss at Roland Garros, falling in 4 sets to swede Robin Söderling. After that Nadal withdrew as the defending champion fro Queens and Wimbledon because of knee problems in both knees. In 2015 he experienced his second loss in French Open. This time in really bad form he lost to Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the quarter-finals. In 2016 Nadal had to withdraw after being in top form in the first two rounds.
