Swiss Open Basel Final 2018. The home favorite and 98-time ATP titlist Roger Federer is playing his 14th final at home in the Swiss Indoors in Basel Sunday. The Swiss world number three made a sensational announcement this week when he told the journalists that he has been playing injured since Wimbledon. Today against Daniil Medvedev he looked back to his very best once again and maybe its too late to write him off in the competition with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

On Sunday starting 16.00 CET Federer will chase his 9th title in the Swiss Open and his 99th ATP title in total. He is second only to Jimmy Connors (109) in number of ATP titles won during the open era. Federer is off course a Huge favorite against sensation Marius Copil from Romania in the final. In the final, Federer will face surprise finalist Marius Copil, who earned his second Top 10 win of the week with a stunning three-set victory against second seed Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals. In 150 tour-level finals, Federer has never lost to someone ranked as low as Copil, who is currently World No. 93. The Swiss fell in championship matches to players ranked No. 87 twice, against Davide Sanguinetti at Milan in 2002 and Tommy Haas at Halle in 2012.
