The last team to be introduced from group F is Korea Republic. The team only won 4 out of 10 games in their qualification group but made a narrow escape to the World Cup in Russia.

Having tremendous problems when playing away, Korea Republic is coming into the tournament with a lot of concerns. Therefore, I am not so sure about how they will deal with the Russian virgin territory. If they can manage to beat Sweden in their first game, confidence may lead Korea Republic to a major upset against Mexico and from there move forward into the playoffs. However, this scenario should not be taken for granted due to their poor defense. A common prejudice about Korea is that their team is all about one player. I am obviously talking about Son Heung-Min from Tottenham Hotspur FC. The team has some other talent than just Heung-min, for example Ki Sung-Yueng from Swansea and Hwang Hee-Chan from Red Bull Salzburg. However, on the other hand, we all know that this is the case: No Heung-Min, No party!

I am looking forward to see Korea Republic show their style of play. As mentioned before the team has some good players, but I am afraid that it won’t last long. Korea, I am sorry, but you will have to pack your bags early this time.

Below you can find Korea Republic’s final 23-man squad:
