Switzerland is our last team to present from group E. The team edged past Northern Ireland in the play-offs and will now face their 11th appearance in the World Cup. With a lot of players currently in their peak of their career, Switzerland will be a though team to beat.

The nation that is more famous for their chocolate and banking secrecy than their football team is currently ranked sixth in the world. With a lot of key-players present in premier league, Serie A, and Bundesliga, Switzerland comes into the tournament with far more experience than the average team. One of my favorite players is Xherdan Shaqiri who has been out of form at Stoke City. The question is if he can step up and get his confidence back during this tournament. I really hope he will, because Shaqiri is a player capable of changing a whole game, which is something that Switzerland will need in Russia in order to succeed.

If Switzerland ever wants to surprise us in a world cup, now is the time. The team has a solid starting eleven with some players having that little extra. However, Switzerland needs to beat teams that are of a higher ranking than they are, which is something that have been troubling them in the past.
