To put it frankly, I did not think Croatia would be so dominant in the group stage as they were. I have always seen Croatia as a bit overrated, living on their name so to say. Sure, the team has some of the absolute biggest names in football (Modric, Rakitic, and Mandzukic) but I never thought they would be as good as they have shown. In the last game against Iceland, the team rested multiple players from the former starting eleven as well. Denmark didn’t lose a single game in the group, (one win and two draws) and haven’t really convinced me yet. We all knew that France would win the group and most likely Denmark ending up the second fighting with Peru. But here we are, Croatia vs Denmark in the fourth game in the rounds of 16.

Who will win it?

Everything will depend on who will win the midfield battle. Eriksen and Delaney vs Modric and Kovacic. The central midfield will be critical for both teams to master during the game. Sadly for Denmark, Croatia has shown and on paper has a better midfield. This will be the decisive factor in this game. For all Croatian fans, we all hope Lovren would make a game depending mistake though because those can appear from nothing. Croatia will win it, 2-0.
